The Sisingamangaraja XII Palace Complex is a historical tourist destination located on the shores of Lake Toba, precisely in Simamora Village, Baktiraja District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. Brief History:
Sisingamangaraja XII was the 12th king of the Sisingamangaraja Kingdom, which was one of the largest kingdoms in Batak Land. He is known as a leader who was persistent in fighting against Dutch colonialism in North Sumatra. In 1907, a fierce battle took place between Sisingamangaraja XII’s troops and the Dutch in Bakkara.
Although Sisingamangaraja XII’s troops lost in this battle, his spirit of resistance never wavered. He continued to fight in the jungles and led his people against the Dutch. In 1907, Sisingamangaraja XII fell in battle in Bahal Batu.
