Additionally, the forest is inhabited by diverse fauna, such as tigers, wild boars, deer, sun bears, wild goats, and various bird species, including wild ducks.
Legends and Folklore
Lake Sicike-cike is steeped in legends and folklore, narrated by the local communities. These stories are entwined with the seven clans residing in the area around the lake: Bintang, Angkat, Capah, Kudadiri, Ujung, Sinamo, and Bako. All these clans belong to the Pakpak ethnic group. Visitors can learn about the legends directly from the local residents.
Uniqueness of Lake Sicike-cike
One of the unique aspects of Lake Sicike-cike is the scarcity of fish in its waters, with the exception of small reddish fish known as gobi fish. These fish are used by the local people for medicinal purposes.
