The Museum Batak Balige was established with the aim of preserving and utilizing the collection of cultural and historical wealth of the Batak ethnic group. In this museum, visitors can see around 1,000 collections of Batak cultural artifacts and historical relics from 6 Batak tribes, namely: Karo, Toba, Simalungun, Pakpak, Angkola, and Mandailing.

The museum’s collection includes various kinds of typical Batak objects and their relics such as traditional weapons, clothing, traditional Batak houses, sigale-gale statues, and others, including wise quotes from the Batak ancestors.

The museum building consists of four floors with a modern design and decorated with typical Batak ornaments. The museum also provides various facilities for visitors, such as a cafeteria, sky restaurant, swimming pool, convention hall, and artshop to shop for typical Batak souvenirs. The entrance fee to the museum is also affordable, which is 10 thousand rupiah for adults and 5 thousand rupiah for children.
TB Silalahi Personal Museum
In the museum complex, visitors can also visit the TB Silalahi Personal Museum or the Museum of Footsteps and History of TB Silalahi located in the Main Building of the TB Silalahi Center Complex. In this museum, visitors can see the life story of Letjen (Ret). Dr. TB Silalahi, from a young age as a buffalo herder to becoming a General.
TB Silalahi Personal Museum Collection
The museum features panels that tell the story of TB Silalahi’s life and career journey. In addition, there are his personal belongings such as uniforms and military ranks, diplomas, clothes when he was a minister, a school bench when he was in SR, an official car that he used when he served as Menpan in the Development Cabinet VI, and so on.
