The Sacred Birthplace of King Sisingamangaraja I
Location and Uniqueness:
Tombak Sulu-Sulu is located in Marbun Tonga Marbun Dolok Village, Baktiraja District, approximately 15 km from Doloksanggul City. This 1-hectare area is covered with lush trees and large old rocks, including the sacred and rare Sanghamadeha Tree. According to geologists, the rocks there are hundreds of millions of years old and are the base rock of the Supervolcano Toba, which is very rare. There is a shelter (entrance) for resting and enjoying the natural panorama. This shelter also serves as a place to welcome guests and provide directions about the location of Tombak Sulu-Sulu by a guide. Visitors are required to take off their shoes and maintain good manners because this location is believed to be very sacred.
History and Significance:
Tombak Sulu-Sulu is estimated to be around 500 years old. It is here that Boru Pasaribu, the wife of King Bona Ni Onan Sinambela, received a revelation from Mulajadi Nabolon (God Almighty) that she would give birth to a powerful child who would one day become king. That child, Raja Manghuntal, was later crowned King Sisingamangaraja I.
Management:
The Tombak Sulu-Sulu site is managed by the Humbang Hasundutan Regency Government and belongs to the local residents.
Tombak Sulu-Sulu is not only an interesting historical tourist destination, but also has a high spiritual value. Visitors can learn about the history of King Sisingamangaraja I and feel the sacred atmosphere of this place.
