History of Lake Sidihoni:

• Formation from Lakebed Uplift: Lake Sidihoni was formed due to the uplifting of Lake Toba’s bed, known as “resurgent doming.”
• Basin System: A basin formed by local faults filled with water and became Lake Sidihoni.

Functions of Lake Sidihoni:

• Water Source: Lake Sidihoni’s water is used for daily needs such as drinking, washing, and bathing buffaloes.
• Cultural Value: The local community has a tradition of “marsattabi” to ask permission from the ancestors before taking water from the lake.
